Sringeri is the Holy town in Chikmagalur District in Karnataka, and located in the banks of Tunga River. The name Sringeri derived from the epic character Rishyasringa who figures in Ramayana. The Average elevation of this place around 2204 ft. Sringeri also Headquarters of Taluk and has deep history includes Ramayana. Sankaracharya (the great exponent of Advaita Vedanta Philoshopy) had established his first and important monastery in Sringeri.
